"As
an independent branding and design company our business relies on the
skills, knowledge and commitment of our creative team. Managing and developing
our team is therefore crucial to our success.
However, it didn't
make good business sense to employ an HR Manager. We needed the benefit of
expert professional HR Advice from a partner who understood the issues we
faced and who would deliver cost effective solutions for our business and
our people as and when required.
Business People Matters provides just such a service.
We are also delighted that Tom has agreed to join our non-executive team to
help us develop our business. His knowledge of the HR world has helped us
develop a number of client propositions."

CPA Global
and
LOC Consulting
|
|
During the period May to August 2007, BPM worked in
association with LOC Consulting to help CPA Global establish their HR systems
requirements and select a short list of systems vendors to be invited to
tender.
CPA are a global rapidly growing business of about
1000 staff headquartered in Jersey. Being
still fairly small, but with a global reach across half a dozen countries
including India,
generates the need for ERP functionality without the price tag and with a
much slicker interface.

In September 2005, Business
People Matters was appointed by innovative manufacturing company,
'TruckProtect' to recruit their new sales force.
|
|

|
"When TruckProtect needed to increase its direct sales force in
2005, we knew what the sales team needed to achieve and realised we had an
excellent opportunity to promote our brand.
However, we also knew we couldn't afford to divert our focus on
growing the business by becoming immersed in the details of running a
recruitment campaign.
We needed a professional Recruitment/HR partner to take a high level brief, develop the job
description, identify the appropriate person profile and deliver a
short list of quality candidates for us to select from.
BPM quickly appraised the situation and provided us with
just the service we needed. Their consultant quickly got on with the
job of delivering the best candidates. As a consequence they provided us
with excellent value for money."

Tom Fisher's previous Career at
LogicaCMG Plc
|
"Tom worked as my HR Director between 1998 and 2001. Amongst
his principal achievements he:
Significantly improved the quality of staff management within
Logica's Managed Services business by coaching senior managers on the
application of employee performance improvement plans;
Designed job and person profiles for various senior management
and sales positions within Logica's Managed Services
business; developed and managed the recruitment process; and
played a key role in all appropriate appointment decisions
Ensured strategically aligned and cost effective business
acquisitions and TUPE transfers through various HR due diligence and
employee integration projects.
Designed, implemented and managed a balanced score card for
assessing senior managers within Logica's Managed Services business.
Significantly improved the quality and cost effectiveness of
Logica's Managed Services' recruitment activity by developing
and implementing new recruitment processes and procedures"
Chris Oliver
previously Group Director,
Managed Services
Logica
|
"Tom's task was to integrate a team of senior
IT Consultants created by the merger of Logica and CMG, from
two separate teams with very different cultures and
different compensation plans.
This integration took
place in a period where business was poor and good margins were
very hard to come by. Tom was therefore responsible for delivering the
realignment of variable and fixed rate compensation components across the
business and for negotiating the cost effective departure of senior
consultants and managers who could not be accommodated by the new business.
It was apparent that
one way or another this would have a detrimental impact on a
significant number of senior staff. Tom therefore designed a
structure and a process to deliver the required cost benefits and
which underlined the need to reward current performance and contribution
rather than previous service or reputation.
Tom delivered
this message personally to each member of the team and secured the
necessary changes to individual's remuneration arrangements, (or where
required secured their exit from the company).
This was an extremely
challenging project which Tom undertook with commitment and
sensitivity and delivered the required cost savings for the
business."
